Description:
Discover the healing power of plants and prepare for the winter season with herbalist and organic farmer Dawn Gardener of Wild Violet Herbs.
In this engaging workshop, you’ll learn about time-honored herbal remedies that can help support your immune system during the colder months. Sage, astragalus, garlic, thyme, and elderberry are just a few of the herbal “magicians” you’ll meet as Dawn shares their traditional uses, along with healing stories, folk remedies, and practical recipes you can incorporate into your daily life.
Each participant will leave with multiple recipe cards and an elderberry syrup mix to make at home, giving you the tools to continue your herbal journey long after the workshop ends.
Bio:
Dawn Gardner is a first-generation organic farmer, herbalist, and creative who has grown a garden everywhere she’s ever lived. Moving to Bedford in 2025 to start Wild Violet Herbs marked a return to her roots, having grown up in neighboring Campbell County. Guided by a passion for natural living, Dawn has allowed the plants to be her teachers, discovering along the way that they offer not only nourishment, but also healing and connection. She is excited to share the wisdom of the plants—and the fruits of her farm—with the community. “Plants are healers, friends, and feeders of the body and soul. We all can benefit from a life more integrated with plants.”
