The Sedalia Center will once again host its annual Sedalia Country Fair on Saturday, September 11, beginning at 10 am.  The event brings back memories of an old-time fair with agricultural displays, lots of animals, kids' activities, and fun for the whole family!  Traditional highlights of the event are the Coon Mule Jump and the Food Competitions.

Admission for adults is just $5; children 12 and under free!

Food Competitions

As you put up the harvest from your gardens, don't forget the food competitions!  Competition categories will include best homegrown produce; home-canned vegetables, meats, and fruits; and baked goods. 

Entry items may be brought to the Sedalia Center on Friday, September 10 between Noon and 7pm, or between 7am and 8am on Saturday before the event begins.  No pre-registration is necessary.  All items will be judged in category. Each item you bring will be assigned a number to be used during the competition. Please do not place any identifying marks on your entries, so that the judging may be objective.

Photography Competition

The theme of the photography contest is "Country Living". Entries will be judged in the following categories: 
·         Young Adult (ages 13 - 18);
·         Adult, amateur;
·         Adult, semiprofessional .
Photos may be color or B&W, but will not be judged separately. Photos should not be digitally altered with the exception of cropping or removal of red-eye.All photographs must be framed.  Photos should be no smaller than 8" x 10" and, including frames, no larger than 26” x 30". Please, no more than 4 entries per individual. There is no pre-registration or entry fee required. Photos may be submitted up until 7 pm, Friday, September 10 or between 8am and 9am on Saturday, September 11.Photos will remain on display to the public during the Country Fair.  While the Sedalia Center will make every effort to take care of your photos, we cannot assume responsibility for them.  Please plan to pick up your photos following the event.  If you are unable to do so, please call our office (434-299-5080) to make other arrangements.

 

Vending Information

Non-food vending opportunities are available at this event.  The cost is $40 per 12' x 12' site.  Optional electrical service (110v) is available for an additional $10 per site.

  • Pre-registration/pre-payment is required.   
  • The Sedalia Center reserves the right to decline any vendor applicant; You will receive a response to your application within 48 hours.
  • This event takes place rain or shine.  
  • Fee is non-refundable except in cases where the application is denied.  
  • Vendors must be on-site and have vehicles unloaded before 9am the day of the event.
  • Unfortunately we are not able to provide tents or tables for outside vendors.  Vendors are responsible for providing their own equipment.  Vendor merchandise and equipment is not covered by Sedalia Center insurance.
